New School Resource Officer Appointed To Abington Senior HS
Officer Raymond Townsend has been named Abington High School's new school resource officer.

ABINGTON, PA — A new school resource officer has been appointed at Abington High School.
Officer Raymond Townsend, a seventeen-year veteran of the Abington Township Police Department, will take on the new responsibility.
Townsend graduated from the police academy in 2003, and has since spent time working in the patrol division, as a D.A.R.E. officer, a field training officer, and a SWAT team operator.

He's also the president of the Abington Township Police Association, a member of the department's honor guard unit, and part of the community policing division.
Before his work as a police officer, Townsend was a nine year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
