New Wawa Opening Thursday In Abington

The grand opening celebration will feature the Hoagies for Heroes competition, Wally Goose, free coffee, and free T-shirts.

ABINGTON, PA — Wawa is opening its newest location this week in Abington Township.

A gran opening celebration will take place from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at 1345-51 Easton Road in Abington.

The first 100 customers will be treated to free T-shirts that read "Wawa Coffee, Hoagies & Kindness."

Free coffee will also be available.

Wawa mascot Wally Goose will also be on hand to take photos with customers.

A ribbon cutting will take place at 8:30 a.m.

The day will also feature Wawa's signature Hoagies for Heroes competition, pitting first responders against each other in a hoagie-making competition.

First responders from Abington Township Police Department and Abington Fire Company will compete to see who can build the most hoagies in three-minutes.

Wawa will conclude the Hoagies for Heroes competitions by presenting checks for $1,000 to each department’s charity of choice.
