Nursing Home Floated For Rydal Road Property In Abington
Abington's Board of Commissioners are hosting a conditional use hearing next week for a potential nursing home facility at 1209 Rydal Road.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A conditional use hearing regarding a potential nursing home in Abington Township is planned for next week.
The Board of Commissioners of Abington Township, at 6:30 p.m. Monday are holding the hearing for 1209 Rydal Road.
Chaverim Realty Partners, LLC has applied for conditional use of the property.

According to the township, the group is looking to establish a Life Care Facility and a Nursing Home on that property.
Specifically, the application asks for Conditional Use approval pursuant to Section 301 of the Abington Township Zoning Ordinance to permit Use E-10: Life Care Facility (Continuing Care) and Use E-12: Nursing Home in the R-1 Low-Density Residential Zoning District.

According to Glenside Local, Chaverim bought the property for $600,000 in 2019 and initially sought to build townhomes and duplex units.
A copy of the application is on file with the Code Enforcement Office of the Township of Abington and may be reviewed by appointment only from 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
