One Step At A Time 5k Fun Run and Family Walk with Post Race Education Event geared to decrease the stigma of addiction/fund scholarships

Please join us for the One Step at a Time 5k Fun Run and Family Walk at beautiful Fort Washington State Park. This 5k is the dream of a 13 year old Abington Jr High student, Kayla Guevara, in hopes to fund scholarships for adolescents and young adults for substance abuse treatment, making the road to recovery possible.

Having first hand experience watching the struggles of her brother gain access to treatment in the past, Kayla's dream is to raise enough money so that others may have access to necessary treatment in addition to helping fund scholarships for family education. Her wish also is that people may learn the truth about the disease of addiction, just as she did while participating in Caron's Family Education Program while learning how to support her older brother. Kayla became empowered when she realized that the stigma of mental health and addiction in our society creates an enormous hurdle for all those affected. In having a voice and taking a stand, we all can change the way of the world. Please help assist Kayla fulfill her dream in her fight to decrease the stigma of this disease, fund future scholarships for treatment, and to demonstrate that together we CAN make a change for our future, one step at a time.
