In addition to playing some of the biggest corporate events, private parties and concert arenas in the nation, the Secret Service Band also makes time to support some of their favorite charities. The band will provide entertainment as part of the April 11 fundraising event for The McKeown Foundation. Guests at the event also will enjoy Lulu’s famous special buffet, which includes beer and wine.
The foundation – which also hosts an annual golf tournament – was founded by the family of William J. McKeown Jr. after losing their father to Alzheimer’s in 1991. The family works together to honor his memory by participating in finding a cure for this devastating disease.
“We are thankful and appreciative of the support the community has given the foundation over the years,” Joe McKeown said. “Through this event, we hope to expand on the support and awareness we started with the annual golf tournament to continue our mission of caring, support and research in the hopes of one day eliminating Alzheimer’s disease.”
Tickets for the event are $50 per person and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available online by visiting www.McKeownFoundation.org/events/join-us-for-the-secret-service-event-at-lulus. For more information, call Maggie Carr at 215-620-4842.
About the McKeown Foundation
The McKeown Foundation was formed in 2007 in an effort to expand on support and awareness and to carry on our mission of caring, support and research in hopes of one day eliminating Alzheimer’s disease. The McKeown’s have worked together to honor the memory of their father, William, who lost the fight against the disease in 1991. For the past 20 years, they have done their part to find a cure by hosting an annual golf outing. The William J. McKeown Jr. Golf Classic “Fore” Alzheimer’s was born to raise awareness and generate community support.
