Frozen feces from the neighborhoods many dogs was pried off the sidewalks and curbs with shovels.

As they dug into their dirty work, volunteers heard the resounding barks of neighborhood dogs, almost as if they were being cheered on.

Humans also appreciated the work.

“We received a lot of horn beeping and shouts of ‘Thank you’ , ‘Great work’!” representatives with the Neighborhood Council said.

Volunteers were treated to two-dozen warm pretzels from Tasty Twisters to warn their frozen hands when they were done their work.
