Police Officer Promoted In Abington Twp.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —While the Abington Township Police Department has promoted one officer, it is seeking more police officers to join its force.

Last week, the police department promoted Anthony Space to lieutenant.

Space served in the Philadelphia Police Department before joining Abington Police 12 years ago.

He was elevated to sergeant in 2020.

"Throughout his time with us, Anthony has taken on various roles that have contributed to his progression towards becoming a commander within the department," the police department posted on Facebook. "Join us in extending our congratulations to Lt. Space on this significant milestone, and we wish him the best as he takes on his new leadership responsibilities."

Meanwhile, the police department is hiring.

The police department is taking applications until Noon on Friday, June 14.

Applications are available online at www.abingtonpd.org.

We have also added an online proctoring option for the written examination. Applicants will learn more while applying.

Starting salary is up to $104,637 based on experience.
