Pope Visit Could Cost Philly $6 Million, As Legislation Advances: Report
A new bill will determine just how much the city will be reimbursed.

The Pope’s visit could wind up costing the city of Philadelphia about 6 million, according to numbers in a recent report.
The City Council Appropriations Committee recently advanced a bill to transfer $17 million internally to cover the expense, the report states.
About $9 million of that is expected to be covered by the World Meeting of Families, Philly.com said.

Most of the cost incurred is for police ($9.3 million) and fire ($4.7 million), according to the report.
