Popeyes Chicken Coming To Abington Township

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The sign on the fence says "Coming Soon."

And the look of the building is instantly recognizable to chicken lovers everywhere.

Popeyes Louisiana Chicken is moving into the former TD Bank property, with the building construction underway at 1428 Old York Road. A drive-by Sunday by Patch showed dumpsters filled with the remnants of the old bank as the building transforms into a fast-food eatery.

There is no date for when the fast-food chain will open its Abington location.

Popeyes Louisiana Chicken opened a location in Warminster in 2020 at the former Steak 'N Shake on Street Road.

It also has locations in Lansdale, Cheltenham, Norristown, Levittown, Bensalem, and several in Philadelphia.

Popeyes prides itself in offering a menu of fried chicken, wings, nuggets, and chicken tenders that can also be ordered as spicy. Popeyes also offers seafood and its signature chicken sandwich. Sides include rice and beans, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw, among others.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc., also known as Popeyes and formerly named Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits and Popeyes Famous Fried Chicken & Biscuits, is an American multinational chain of fried chicken restaurants formed in 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is headquartered in Miami.
