Power Outage Closes Cheltenham School For Day

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A township elementary school will be closed on Thursday after damage from a fast-moving storm on Wednesday night.

School officials said the Wyncote Elementary School will be closed due to a power outage caused by the impact of the severe weather on Wednesday night that downed trees and power lines, and brought torrential rain, high winds, and flash flooding.

PECO has not given us a timetable for when power will be restored to the building, school officials said.
