Protest Planned Against ICE In Abington Saturday

Abington for Peace is holding the protest over the Trump Administration's handling of the fatal ICE shooting of a woman in Minnesota.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Abington For Peace, along with two other organizations, is holding a community rally on Saturday to protest the Trump Administration's handling of ICE in the wake of a fatal shooting involving a Minnesota woman.

Abington joins nearby Hatboro that are staging protests in Montgomery County this weekend.

"The People’s Neighborhood Peaceful Protest" takes place from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday at 1475 Old York Road.

Indivisible Jenkintown and Community for Change are also involved in the protest.

"Bring your signs, your friends, and family, and show up, stand up, and speak up," organizers said. "There are so many issues that are affecting us. Let your signs reflect that as we unite together with our neighbors."

Nearby Hatboro is holding an "ICE Out" rallyin support of Renee Nicole Good, a Minnesota woman who was shot and killed by an ICE agent while in her car in Minnesota.

The incident has caused outrage against the Trump Administration's handling of ICE agents who have been placed in some cities across the country, with another recent shooting in Portland, Oregon.

Good's fatal shooting has led to protests and rallies across the country, including one recently in Philadelphia.
