
According to the Boston Athletic Association's website, there are hundreds of Pennsylvanians lacing up their running shoes and participating in the 2012 Boston Marathon today ... and a bunch of them are from the Abington area.

The 42-kilometer race (about 26 miles for those who hate the metric system) is the world's oldest annual marathon according to the Boston Athletic Association's website, www.baa.org. Runners must qualify at a certified marathon, and must be at least 18 years old.
The "elite" women start at 9:32 a.m. followed by the "elite" men and wave one at 10 a.m.; wave two starts at 10:20 a.m. and wave three starts 20 minutes later.
