Safety Concerns Prompt Relocation Of Ardsley Community Center

Abington Township officials cited concerns over school shootings and supply chain issues for temporarily relocating the facilities.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Ardsley Community Center and Parks and Recreation Office in Abington Township are moving out of safety precautions and logistical issues, according to officials.

Abington Township said due to concerns of school shooting events and supply chain challenges, the center and office will be moving to the Alverthorpe Manor Office.

Pool registration scheduled for Tuesday will now be held at Alverthorpe Manor from through 8 p.m.

"The health and safety of the children is of the upmost priority and the township is taking every precaution necessary," officials said in their announcement. "We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding."

Updates on the Ardsley office's reopening will be shared as they come, officials said.

For now, all Parks and Recreation services will be offered at Alverthorpe Manor.

Alverthorpe Manor is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located at 515 Meetinghouse Road in Jenkintown.
