Sarah Boyer Making a Difference in the Lives of Students

It's evident the moment you walk into her classroom

North Wales, PA (October 14, 2016) – Sarah Boyer, from Perkasie, PA, has joined Lakeside as a Special Education Instructor for Lakeside School located in North Wales, PA.

“Sarah is well-organized, enthusiastic and sincere,” says Peter Dillard, program director of Lakeside School. “She has a clear understanding of curriculum and meets the students at their individual needs. Sarah is an awesome asset to our team of terrific teachers.”

Boyer earned her bachelor of arts in Special Education with a concentration in Middle Level Science and English from Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond, LA.

“It’s great to be a permanent part of the educational community here at Lakeside School,” says Boyer. “I am looking forward to collaborating with my fellow teachers and providing high interest lessons as I hope to make a meaningful difference in student's lives.”

Prior to Lakeside School, Boyer worked as a long-term substitute teacher for the Boyertown School District, Boyertown, PA, and for Source 4 Teachers, Doylestown, PA.

Lakeside, a long-standing nonprofit serving the needs of over 2500 students annually throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, provides a range of therapeutic educational programs and services. Lakeside School is currently serving 30 school districts in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties. Lakeside’s approach empowers students to realize their life goals and to become positive citizens in their communities. The scope of its programs include educational and clinical services to meet a variety of needs including but not limited to: emotional and/or behavioral issues, addictions, school anxiety, truancy, depression, pregnancy and parenting and the impact of trauma.

In addition to its multiple campuses where students in grades 5-12 are enrolled, Lakeside also provides training for professionals including trauma-informed systems, anger/violence prevention and early childhood education. Lakeside also offers professional development for schools, both locally and around the world, who wish to develop trauma informed practices for the students they are working with.
