Staffers With 83 Years' Experience Retiring In Abington
The Abington School District approved the retirements at a recent board meeting.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Abington School District is saying goodbye to five staffers who are retiring at the end of the school year.
At its May 14 school board meeting, the Directors approved the retirements of:
- Maureen Boland, an English teacher at Abington Senior High School, who has served the District for 14 years.
- Cynthia Castillo, a paraprofessional at Highland Elementary School, who has served the District for 13 years.
- Linda Schneider, an administrative assistant at the Administration Building, who has served the District for 32 years.
- Stacey Kash, a staff nurse at Abington Middle School, who has served the District for 16 years.
- .Richard Nedzwecky, a bus driver in the Transportation Department, who has served the District for eight years.

- The Board completed the ballot for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) Election of School Board Members
- The Board authorized the Superintendent to enter into the Use of Funds agreements with the MCIU for IDEA Funds for the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, and adopt the policies, procedures and use of funds as required.
- The Board approved a confidential student matter regarding an Educational Service Agreement.
- The Board approved advertisements for bid for asphalt renovations in the Maintenance Shop area at Abington Senior High School, and for tennis court surface repairs for Abington Middle School and Abington Senior High School.
- The Board awarded a contract to Bluum USA, Inc., for the replacement of Chromebooks for grades 2, 6 and 9 for the 2024-2025 school year.
