State Rep. Sanchez Takes Oath For 4th Term

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —State Rep. Ben Sanchez was sworn in earlier this week to begin his fourth term representing the 153rd Legislative District.

The 49-year-old Jenkintown resident's oath of office was administered by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Debra Todd, and the invocation was given by Bishop Maureen L. Davis, the pastor of the Open Door Mission True Light Church in Philadelphia.

“I was honored to take the oath of office on Jan. 7 to commence my fourth term as state representative, serving Abington, Upper Dublin and Rockledge," the Democratic legislator said. "I’ve called the 153rd district home my entire life, and serving our community in this capacity is an honor I do not take for granted.

The Pennsylvania General Assembly is currently in its 209th consecutive legislative session, which began on Tuesday.

The 2025-26 legislative session runs through Nov. 30, 2026.

In the last session, Sanchez had one bill signed into law and brought home $6.5 million in state grants to the district.

“As we begin a new legislative session, I’m renewing my commitment to advocate on behalf of the issues that matter most to us here in Montgomery County," Sanchez said. "Those include education, environmental conservation, equality, fair wages and commonsense firearm safety. I look forward to working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to deliver meaningful solutions that benefit all Pennsylvanians.”
