Students Suspended After Racist Incident At Cheltenham-Quakertown Football Game: Reports

Quakertown students threw rocks at Cheltenham cheerleaders bus and yelled racial slurs, according to reports.

CHELTENHAM, PA — Two Quakertown middle school students have been suspended after throwing rocks and yelling racial slurs at Cheltenham cheerleaders at the football game between the two schools on Friday night.

Fox29 reports that fans from Quakertown began throwing rocks at the Cheltenham bus at it approached the stadium.

Racial slurs were also yelled out to cheerleaders and band members after the game and as they left the stadium.

The Morning Call says that Quakertown superintendent William Harner, who is a Cheltenham graduate, described the incident as "incredibly upsetting."

An investigation from both schools confirmed that numerous witnesses saw and heard that actions the crowd. It's not clear how many other individuals may have been involved.
