Ensemble Novo is a Philadelphia-based six-piece band inspired by the music of Brazil. The group creates a warm, spacious, perfect-for-chilling sound. The one-time Inquirer scribe and NPR contributor, Tom Moon, composes and plays saxophone for this Joao Gilberto-inspired, bossa-samba-riffic septet. Their debut recording ‘Blue Night’ was released in 2013 by Philadelphia’s own Turtle Studios. Enjoy classics from the Brazilian songbook along with impressive originals from their debut album.
