Trash And Recycling Pickup Cancelled In Abington Due To Snow

ABINGTON, PA -- The incoming snow storm has impacted trash service Tuesday in Abington.

A double trash and single stream collection will be in place on Wednesday to replace Tuesday's cancellation.

No yard waste collection will occur on either Tuesday or Wednesday, the borough said.

A snow emergency has not yet been declared for the township, but many surrounding municipalities have done so. It is likely the township will declare an emergency in the coming hours.

Snow emergency routes must be kept clear of unattended vehicles to allow snow plows through, which means no parking on the following streets: Old York, Moreland, Easton, Huntingdon Pike, Susquehanna, Highland, Old Welsh, Fitzwatertown, Township Line Road, North Hills Avenue, Meetinghouse Road, Fox Chase Road, Valley Road, Edge Hill Road, Woodland Road, Mount Carmel Avenue, and Jenkintown Road.

Property owners are also reminded to clear snow away from fire hydrants.
