MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Madeleine Dean, the congresswoman representing Pennsylvania's Fourth Congressional District, will host a town hall event for constituents next week.

Dean, a Democrat who before becoming elected to federal office was a state representative who represented the 153rd Legislative District in Abington, is hosting the town hall event to field questions and concerns from constituents, her office announced.

The town hall has since sold out to in-person attendees but those interested in attending can do so virtually. More information can be found here.

Dean's office did not provide specific topics that may be discussed during the event.

Dean, a native of Glenside, got her start in politics early on, becoming elected to a local committee position in Abington Township when she was just 18 years old, according to her professional biography.

She went on to serve as an Abington Township commissioner before running for state representative back in 2012.

Dean ran for the federal Fourth Congressional District in 2018 and won, during a time when Pennsylvania had 18 congressional seats without any female representation.

The Fourth Congressional District covers most of Montgomery County and portions of Berks County.

Dean and her family reside in Abington Township.
