Vacant Commissioner Seat In Abington Needs To Be Filled

Mike Thompson's vacant Ward 6 seat needs to be filled and interested and eligible residents are encouraged to submit letters of interest.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — An empty seat on the Abington Township Board of Commissioners needs to be filled, and interested and qualified residents can submit letters of interest now.

The Ward 6 seat, formerly occupied by Democrat Mike Thompson, who won his seat in 2017.

Eligible applicants must be a resident of the ward for at least one year continuously prior to the appointment, and must be a registered voter in Ward 6.

Eligible applicants must not have been convicted or pled guilty or no contest to any felony charge within three years of the appointment.

Any interested and qualified person shall submit a letter of interest and resume for curriculum vitae to Thomas Hecker, President, Board of Commissioner, c/o Richard J. Manfredi, Township Manager at ward6commissioner@abingtonpa.gov or by mail to 1176 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001.
