When All Hell Breaks Loose: From the Ashes of Dresden to Existential Grace

Author presentation, book signing and reception Friday, May 15th at 7:30 p.m.

On May 15th, at 7:30 p.m., Reverend Manfred Bahmann will discuss his experiences as captured in his memoir “When All Hell Breaks Loose: From the Ashes of Dresden to Existential Grace” at St. Paul’s. Author and Reverend Bahmann describes his Nazi Youth childhood growing up in Germany during World War II, his fleeing from burning Dresden at age fifteen, his awakening to the horrors of the Holocaust, and his journey as a Lutheran Pastor and theologian on three continents. After his presentation there will be a reception and time for book signing. Bahmann’s personal story draws you into the chaotic world of Germany as WWII looms and in a time which the youth of the generation are pulled into a spiral that eventually leads to the destruction of a people and a nation.
