Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Abington: Police

A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning outside Jefferson Abington Hospital, according to Abington Township Police.

ABINGTON, PA — A woman died after being struck by a vehicle outside Jefferson Abington Hospital early Friday morning, police said.

According to Abington Township Police, officers were called to the intersection of Old York and Woodland roads at 1:27 a.m. Friday for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Officers found a female victim lying in the southbound lane of Old York Rd with serious injuries.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and took custody of the victim.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim remained on location and is cooperating with the investigation.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the Abington Township Police Traffic Safety Unit.
