$1M Mega Millions Ticket Sold In PA, Jackpot Swells To $1.15B

No one snagged Tuesday's $1 billion jackpot. The next Mega Millions drawing will be held on Friday.

PENNSYLVANIA — No one won the $1 billion Mega Millions jackpot on Christmas Eve, but a ticket worth $1 million was sold in Pennsylvania, according to lottery officials.

The winning Pennsylvania ticket matched Tuesday's five white balls of 11, 14, 38, 45, and 46, making it worth $1 million, according to the Mega Millions website. The gold Mega Ball was 3.

Tickets worth $1 million were also sold in California, Missouri and Wyoming.

Nationwide, 106 tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball to win the third-tier prize. Thirteen of those were worth $30,000 each because they included the optional Megaplier, while the others took home $10,000.

Since no one snagged the big prize Tuesday, Friday's jackpot swells to an estimated $1.15 bill with an estimated cash option of $516.1 million. This jackpot is the fifth-largest in the game’s history.

This is the second time in less than a week a ticket worth $1 million was sold in Pennsylvania. One for Dec. 20 drawing was sold at a convenience store in Crawford County, according to state lottery officials.

Mega Millions tickets are $2 each. Players can add the Megaplier for $1 to multiply their non-jackpot prizes.

Drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesdays and Fridays.
