22 PA Hospitals Among Best In U.S., New Ranking Says

PENNSYLVANIA — With expertise across multiple specialty areas, Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian are among the 20 best in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 Best Hospitals ranking released Tuesday.

For its 35th annual report, U.S. News evaluated more than 5,000 hospitals based on their performance across 30 medical and surgical services.

Here are the Pennsylvania hospitals recognized on the list:

Philadelphia

1. Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian
2. Jefferson Health-Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals
3. Pennsylvania Hospital
4. Main Line Health Paoli Hospital
5. ChristianaCare Hospitals
6. Main Line Health Lankenau Medical Center
7. Jefferson Health-Abington Hospital
8. Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital
9. Main Line Health Bryn Mawr Hospital
10. Temple University Hospital
11. Cooper University Health Care-Camden
12. Jefferson Health-Stratford, Cherry Hill and Washington Township

Pittsburgh

1. UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside
2. Allegheny General Hospital

These hospitals are among the top 466 Best Regional Hospitals in the country, according to U.S. News.

For the first time this year, U.S. News also identified 98 hospitals across the country for their success in caring for patients from historically underserved communities. In Pennsylvania, the following hospitals were recognized:
