$5M Mega Millions Ticket Sold In PA, Jackpot Swells To $1B

Another $1 million winning ticket in Friday's drawing was also sold in Pennsylvania, according to lottery officials.

PENNSYLVANIA — The Mega Millions jackpot soared to more than $1 billion after no one won Friday's top prize of $940 million. And while no big winner came from Friday's drawing, tickets worth $5 million and $1 million were sold in Pennsylvania, according to lottery officials.

The numbers drawn late Friday were 5, 10, 28, 52 and 63. The gold Mega Ball was 18. The $5 million ticket sold in Pennsylvania matched all five white balls with the optional Megaplier, which was 5, according to the Mega Millions website.

The winning $1 million ticket matched all five white balls without the Megaplier option, lottery officials said.

Across the country, 92 tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball to win the third-tier prize. Fourteen tickets are worth $50,000 each because they included the optional Megaplier. The other 78 won $10,000 each.

Since no one snagged the big prize Friday, Tuesday's jackpot swells to an estimated $1.05 billion with an estimated cash option of $527.9 million. The potential jackpot is the fifth time in the game's history it has surpassed $1 billion.

Winners would also be subject to federal taxes, and many states tax lottery winnings.

Drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesdays and Fridays.
