Six Pennsylvania pizzerias are among the 40 best pizzerias in the United States, according to a new list put together by DoorDash that sheds a glowing light on the Keystone State's pizza scene.
Two Philadelphia pizzerias, two Chester County shops, and one Montco shop were included on DoorDash's Top Local Pizza Spots Across America list, also called the "Battle of the Slices 2026."
The six are listed below:
Pennsylvania's six on the list were more than New York's two, New Jersey's one, and Massachusetts' one. In fact, only California had more pizzerias in the top 40 than Pennsylvania.
The eateries receive rave reviews from customers. HG Palermo's in Pottstown, part of a restaurant group launched by owner Hector G. Guerra after emigrating in the 1980s, was praised for their menu diversity.
"They make an amazing cauliflower crust, white, light garlic, with chicken and broccoli which is my favorite," one Google reviewer wrote. "And their cheesesteak salad is so yummy. I usually take the pizza home to freeze it and it makes 3 meals for me later."
Rosario's in Philadelphia, meanwhile, is beloved for its Mexican-Italian fusion.
"This is my go to late night pizza delivery spot," one reviewer wrote. "Love their pizza! Tacos always hit. But I tried the Quesabirria last night and it was incredible! Will definitely be grabbing that again."
Passayunk's DoughHead is among the best of the traditional options, praised for its freshness.
"Delicious local pizza spot that uses fresh ingredients," a reviewer said. "Definitely a must-try for the pizza lover."
DoorDash's list includes small and medium-sized restaurants that serve pizza, have fewer than 10 locations, have at least 1,000 reviews on DoorDash, and rank among the highest for average consumer ratings from September 2025 through September 2026.
