The man later told police he had drank vodka before getting behind the wheel and that he wanted to die.

WILLIAMSPORT, PA — A drunk FedEx truck driver rammed into another vehicle on a central Pennsylvania highway and later told authorities he wanted to kill himself.

Brad Loomis, 50, of Hughesville, told police had drank vodka on Monday, Sept. 18 before getting behind the wheel of his box truck, officials said.

At around 4:50 p.m., Loomis was driving under the influence as he merged onto Interstate 180 when he intentionally slammed his truck into another vehicle, according to police.

He later said he had done it because that vehicle wouldn't let him merge into traffic.

Both vehicles crashed into the median guardrail. When police arrived, Loomis attempted to barricade himself inside the cabin on his truck and even flourished a knife, according to a NorthCentralPA report.
