Drunk Tow Truck Driver Hit 14 Parked Cars, PA Police Say

The driver tried to run away when police stopped the tow truck a short distance away, said officials.

ALLENTOWN, PA — Officials accused a tow truck driver of being drunk when he damaged a total of 14 parked vehicles early Saturday along a street in Allentown, and tried to flee the scene.

Police have charged the 26-year-old man with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence and unsafe driving, hit and run, driving under suspension, and fleeing or attempting to elude police.

Multiple people called Allentown Police beginning at 3 a.m. Saturday, to report an auto accident in the 1600 block of Tilghman Street, according to officials. Other callers reported that a vehicle, described as a tow truck towing a car, “fled the scene after striking approximately seven parked vehicles.”

As police were investigating, more calls came in that the tow truck “struck several more parked vehicles” within the 1200 block of Tilghman.

Police stopped a tow truck matching that description “a short distance away,” according to Allentown PD. The driver ran away but officers caught and arrested him, police added.

Police said Marlon T. Carrasquuilla, who resides on Tilghman Street, has been charged with the following offenses: Fleeing or attempting to elude police; DUI/unsafe driving; obstructing administration of law or other government; hit and run to unattended vehicle; driving under suspension; reckless driving; and careless driving.

Police transported him to the Lehigh DUI Center for processing.
