CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A man who broke out of a Missouri jail where he was held on sexual assault and incest charges was captured in Pennsylvania this week, not far from where authorities took escaped murderer Danelo Cavalcante into custody after two weeks on the run.

Mario Che-Tiul, 34, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and Chester County detectives in Avondale on Wednesday, according to authorities, who said he was one of seven inmates who escaped from the Barry County Jail in Cassville, Missouri, in June.

Che-Tiul was the last inmate to be captured, authorities said.

According to KOLR-TV report citing Barry County Sheriff Danny Boyd, Che-Tiul and the other inmates escaped from jail on June 1. During the escape, the inmates punched two correctional officers and put them in chokeholds until they were unconscious.

Three of the inmates were quickly apprehended, KOLR reported. Two others turned themselves in and another was turned over to U.S. Marshals by family, reports said.

Che-Tiul remained on the run for more than three months. He was taken to Chester County Prison for processing and will eventually return to Missouri, NBC Philadelphia reported, where he will face charges of child molestation, incest and assault.

Che-Tiul's capture was the second in Chester County this month. On Sept. 13, escaped murderer Cavalcante was captured after a two-week manhunt that left residents on edge and led to school closures, warnings for homeowners to lock their doors and blocked roads over the busy Labor Day weekend.

Cavalcante, 34, was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao, in front of her children in 2021. Prosecutors say he wanted to stop her from telling police he was wanted for another killing in Brazil. At the time of his escape, he was awaiting transfer to a state prison to serve a life sentence.
