Family Of Eagles Fan Who Suffered Fatal Heart Attack At Game Settles Lawsuit: Report

Marco Bianchi died on Sept. 22, 2019, after having a heart attack while attending a game between the Eagles and the Detroit Lions.

PENNSYLVANIA — The family of a man who suffered a fatal heart attack at a Philadelphia Eagles game in 2019 has settled a wrongful death lawsuit against the team, Lincoln Financial Field, and its emergency services provider, according to a report.

Marco Bianchi, 38, of Delaware, died on Sept. 22, 2019, after having a heart attack while attending a game between the Eagles and the Detroit Lions, according to multiple reports.

A year later, Bianchi's family filed a lawsuit in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, claiming the stadium's emergency response was "ill-equipped" and left Bianchi without sufficient medical treatment, ultimately contributing to his death, Fox 29 reported.

The lawsuit claimed it took stadium staff and medical personnel an "unreasonably long period of time" to arrive and aid Bianchi, who suffered a heart attack in Section 131 near the north end zone.

Reports said spectators attempted to provide CPR until first responders arrived; however, when EMS did arrive, they did not have the defibrillator needed to intervene.

Bianchi was taken to the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, reports said.

Lincoln Financial Field, the Philadelphia Eagles, and National Event Services were named as defendants in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit sought more than $50,000 in damages for the Bianchi family, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The details of the settlement were not released.
