Father Found Dead During Family Camping Trip In PA

It's not yet clear what caused the man's death. An investigation is ongoing.

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA — A father who went missing during a family camping trip in Luzerne County was found dead on Monday, authorities confirmed.

Adrien Hachey, 43, of Bedminster, New Jersey had not been seen since Sunday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Hachey's family reported him missing at 10:24 a.m. when they woke up and he was not at their campsite.

The family had been camped out on Mt. Pleasant Lane in Hazle Township, just a bit west of Jim Thorpe and Hickory Run State Park.

Hachey was found dead in a small body of water, near the area of the family campsite.

"At this time, there appears to be nothing suspicious surrouding the death but an autopsy is scheduled for Aug. 23," police said.

The cause of death has not yet been released. An investigation remainds ongoing.
