Former NFL Player Fatally Shot Outside PA Bar: Reports

Antonio Dennard, 32, was killed in Muhlenberg Township near Reading, according to reports.

MUHLENBERG TOWNSHIP, PA — Antonio Dennard, a former NFL player who played for teams including the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants, was killed Sunday morning in a shooting outside a Pennsylvania bar, according to multiple reports.

Dennard, 32, was shot at Legends Bar & Restaurant on North Fifth Street in Muhlenberg Township, just north of Reading, according to a WFMZ report citing the Berks County Coroner's Office. The shooting happened early Sunday morning.

According to WFMZ, Dennard was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

No one has been charged in connection with Dennard's death, the Reading Eagle reported. Authorities have ruled the death a homicide.

According to CBS Sports, Dennard signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent after leaving Langston University in 2012. He was waived later that year and went on to sign with the New York Giants.

Following his brief stint with the Giants, Dennard joined the Green Bay Packers practice squad, CBS Sports reported. Dennard also played for the Arizona Rattlers in the Arena Football League.
