The five puppies were worth $23,000, according to investigators, who called the crime "callous and greedy."
PENNSYLVANIA — A man has been sentenced to prison after robbing a Pennsylvania family of their French bulldog puppies at gunpoint.
Christopher Lamont Stimpson, Jr., 24, of Greensboro, North Carolina, will spend the next six years and six months behind bars after being convicted on numerous robbery charges, including robbery which interferes with interstate commerce.

Stimpson pretended he was interested in buying the puppies, the U.S. Attorney's Office said, coming inside the family's home before pulling out a gun and demanding assistance.
"The defendant threatened a family at gunpoint inside their own home in order to greedily and callously steal vulnerable, living creatures,” U.S. Attorney Jacqueline Romero said in a statement.

As Stimpson fled, the family noted his vehicle's license plate number, and police were able to trace it back.
Stimpson went on to post Instagram photos and videos of himself and the puppies, authorities said.
He was arrested in North Carolina in Dec. 2020 and convicted in April.
U.S. District Court Judge Edward G. Smith also ruled that Stimpson must undergo three years of probation upon his release from prison, and $1,660 in restitution.
The FBI was assisted by the Ephrata Police Department, and the Greensboro, North Carolina Police Department.
