PA Man Steals Car With 3 Kids Inside From Walmart: Police
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the children called 911 during the chase to give authorities updates on their location.
ADAMS COUNTY, PA — A Pennsylvania man is facing kidnapping charges after state police said he stole a running SUV with three children inside from a Walmart parking lot and led authorities on a high-speed chase.
According to a Pennsylvania State Police news release, Jason Harris, 44, of York Springs, stole the Toyota Rav4 from a Walmart in Straban Township near Gettysburg around 5 p.m. Sunday. Three boys — ages 14, 12 and 7 — were inside when Harris took the vehicle, police said.
Authorities pursued Harris to U.S. Highway 15 and into York County, where several troopers were able to box in the SUV and take Harris into custody.

According to police, the boys called 911 during the chase and provided authorities with updates on their location. The boys also told police they pleaded with Harris to slow down.
All three boys were found unharmed inside the SUV, police said.

Harris is charged with three counts of kidnapping, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, motor vehicle theft, fleeing and eluding an officer, and other offenses related to driving under the influence.
