While the Philadelphia metro area isn't likely to see much precipitation, as of Saturday afternoon, forecasters are predicting heavy snow with total accumulations of 7 to 12 inches possible in Carbon and Monroe counties.
In the meantime, temperatures remain quite warm. Based on latest trends, snow will begin in Carbon and Monroe counties Monday evening, and a prolonged period of accumulating snow will fall.

Farther south, mainly from I-80 down to I-78, totals are predicted to fall into the 4 to 6-inch range, but "confidence is lower that there will be a prolonged period of accumulating snow in those areas," National Weather Service officials said.
