Penn State Student Threatened Bombing, Police Say
Police reportedly considered an evacuation of the area after a social media post was made by the 20-year-old.
STATE COLLEGE, PA — A Penn State University student has been arrested after authorities said he made a bomb threat on a social media network, according to authorities and media reports.
Henry Hyduke, 20, of Fair Haven, New Jersey used faces numerous charges in connection with the incident, WJAC first reported.
The incident occurred back on Aug. 24 after the school was notified by the FBI of the threat on a platform called Yik Yak. The post reportedly read "ROTC bombing downtown state college tonight. Stay safe."

"Police quickly identified the student who allegedly made the threat, made in-person contact and determined there was no legitimate threat to the community," the university said in a statement.
The Centre Daily Times reports that police considered an evacuation, but ultimately chose not to because the threat was non-specific to an area.

Hyduke reportedly has no connection to the ROTC program and had no intentions to carry out a bombing, reports state. Rather, Hyduke had a comedic intent.
