Rain Returns To PA: Strong Winds, Flooding In Store

Showers are possible in Pennsylvania through Friday, with wind gusts of up to 35 mph and flooding in the forecast.

PENNSYLVANIA — Get ready for more rain in Pennsylvania.

The sunshine from Tuesday is gone and there's a chance of showers through Friday, according to the forecasters at the National Weather Service.

High winds are likely, with gusts of up to 35 mph possible Thursday night.

Wednesday is likely to be a cloudy day, with showers in the afternoon, according to the weather service.

Delaware, Philadelphia and Lower Bucks counties are under a Coastal Flood Advisory from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. Thursday, with "up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways," according to the National Weather Service.

Then, scattered showers and possible thunderstorms are forecasted for Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

More rain is likely overnight Thursday and early Friday morning, turning into partly sunny weather in the afternoon.

A Coastal Flood Watch will be in effect again for Delaware, Philadelphia and Lower Bucks counties late Thursday into Friday, with "one to two feet of inundation above ground level possible in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways," the National Weather Service said.

Early reports show the weekend being dry and sunny, with seasonal temperatures leaning warmer on Sunday.

Wednesday: A chance of showers, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming east after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday: Showers likely, mainly after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 72. Breezy, with a south wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9pm. Low around 59. Breezy, with a south wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a chance of showers between noon and 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. High near 66. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
