Recalled Gas Ranges May Cause 'Dangerous' Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: What To Know In PA
If you bought one of these ranges in the last four years, it might be under a recall for potentially "dangerous levels" of carbon monoxide.

PENNSYLVANIA — Health experts are warning consumers about cooking or baking with a popular line of gas range ovens sold in Pennsylvania, as they may emit hazardous amounts of carbon monoxide.
Certain models of ZLINE ranges can release "dangerous levels" of carbon monoxide while being used, posing a risk of serious injury or even death, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
This recall affects about 30,000 ZLINE ranges with model numbers RG30, RGS-30, RGB-30, RG36, RGS-36, RGB-36, RG48, RGS-48 and RGB-48. They were sold in various door colors including black, white, red, and blue with several different finishes. The recalled ranges come in three sizes: 30 inches, 36 inches, and 48 inches; with the ZLINE logo on the bottom of the door.

ZLINE has expanded the recall, having originally announcing a recall alert in January after 44 customers had reported carbon monoxide emission and three had fallen ill.
In Pennsylvania, these ranges were sold in-store (and online) at Best Buy, Lowe’s, The Home Depot and The Range Hood Store. They were also sold online at Costco.com, Overstock.com, and Wayfair.com.

The gas ranges in question were sold from Feb. 2019 through Dec. 2022 with prices between $2,300 and $6,900.
The company first offered a repair for the problem, but said they received another 131 reports "that the repair was not completed successfully and that the ranges were still emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide."
In a notice dated last week, ZLINE said they are now offering a replacement range or a refund.
Consumers who have one of these ranges "should immediately stop using the oven compartment, even if they have already had their range repaired as part of the prior recall," said the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The range tops are unaffected by the issue.
