According to a Beaver County Times report, the embalmed head was found near a wooded area off Mason Road by an eighth-grader on his way home from school. In place of the eyes were two red rubber balls.
Investigators previously said they believed the head belonged to a woman between 60 and 80 years old and had been there for less than a week, according to reports.

“We’ve just been waiting for this in the hopes that this kind of exposure can lead to something or someone who can help us identify her,” Economy Police Chief Michael O’Brien told PennLive. “Whatever we get, we’ll start tracking it down.”
As part of their research for the episode, producers visited Beaver County in 2021 and interviewed O'Brien, Beaver County Chief Detective Andy Gall, county coroner's office pathologist assistant Timothy Manzewitsch, and others associated with the case, the Times reported.
The "Unsolved Mysteries" series features "perplexing cold cases, historic murders, and unexplained creature sightings," according to Netflix. It first premiered in 1987 and was hosted by Robert Stack.
After stints on CBS and TV's Lifetime and Spike networks, Netflix resurrected the series in 2020.
