Startups To Watch In Pennsylvania: 159 Companies Make The List
Some of these companies grew more than 10,000 percent from 2019-2022. See the fastest-growing private companies in the Keystone State.
PENNSYLVANIA — More than 150 startups with roots in Pennsylvania are worth keeping an eye on as they respond to some of the nation’s most vexing problems, Inc. Magazine said with the release of its 2023 Inc. 5000 list.
The startup companies were ranked by revenue growth from 2019 to 2022. To be considered, they had to have earned at least $100,000 in 2019 and grown that to at least $2 million by the end of 2022. To be considered, the companies must have been up and generating revenue by March 31, 2019.
The 159 Keystone State companies on the list added 13,821 new jobs between 2019 and 2022, and had a median growth of 179 percent, according to Inc.

Here are the Pennsylvania companies that cracked the top 500 on the list of 5,000:
- The Surefire Group, a business products and services company based in Philadelphia, grew by 17,599 percent during the three years and ranked 17th nationally.
- Awestruck, an advertising and marketing company based in Bethlehem, grew by 11,247 percent during the three years and ranked 25th nationally.
- Gridiron Tire, a software/online commerce company based in Langhorne, grew by 10,294 percent during the three years and ranked 33rd nationally.
- rockITdata, a government services/IT consulting company based in Philadelphia, grew by 4,169 percent during the three years and ranked 115th nationally.
- Rimsys, a software company based in Pittsburgh, grew by 3,443 percent during the three years and ranked 156th nationally.
- Splinterlands, a software company based in Media, grew by 2,240 percent during the three years and ranked 250th nationally.
- Taylor Chip, a food and beverage company based in Mount Joy, grew by 1,993 percent during the three years and ranked 285th nationally.
- JMA Resources, an IT services company based in Mechanicsburg, grew by 1,979 percent during the three years and ranked 286th nationally.
- Tibbott & Richardson, a legal company based in Pittsburgh, grew by 1,739 percent during the three years and ranked 328th nationally.
- The Wolfe Companies, a consumer products company based in Pittsburgh, grew by 1,521 percent during the three years and ranked 382nd nationally.
- InTouch Med Supply, a health products company based in King of Prussia, grew by 1,318 percent during the three years and ranked 439th nationally.
- LoanStar Technologies, a software company based in Swarthmore, grew by 1,241 percent during the three years and ranked 469th nationally.

The Inc. 5000 companies had combined revenues of $358.2 billion, added nearly 1.2 million jobs and grew at a median rate of 219 percent. The list featured 638 newly founded companies and 3,047 repeat honorees.
