Alfred D. Ciavardelli, 87 of Glenside
Alfred Ciavardelli, of Glenside, served in the Air Force during World War II.

Alfred D. Ciavardelli, of Glenside, died on April 11. He was 87.
He was the husband of the late Rose A. (Melair) Ciavardelli.
He was born in Wyncote, on Nov. 27, 1924 to the late Albert and Anna (DeJulio) Ciavardelli.
He was the Building and Plumbing Inspector for Cheltenham Township for 33 years.
He was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist R.C. Church in Glenside.
Alfred served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, received the Air Medal along with 8 bronze stars, and was a member of the "Sea Squatters Club."
He was an avid fly fisherman and loved wood working, tending to his vegetable garden and working around the house.
Alfred enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Alfred is survived by his 3 sons Alfred "Fred" (Sandy), Albert (Janet), Brian (Jen) Ciavardelli, 8 grandchildren Tony, Alexandra, Paul, Lisa, Vincent, Luke, Stephen and Joshua Ciavardelli, his 2 sisters Phil Vasta and Lucy Scheurle.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers Jack and Arthur Ciavardelli and his sister Julia Roberts.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke the Evangelist R.C. Church, Easton Road and Fairhill Avenue, Glenside.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Church. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alfred's name can be made to the Rosenfeld Cancer Center or Hybrid OR (Cardiology Dept.), c/o Abington Health Foundation, ATTN: Office of Philanthropy, 1200 Old York Road., Abington, PA 19001.
