Ambler's Wissahickon HS Named One Of State's Best

The school was ranked 15th in the state and 795th nationally in a study which analyzed over 21,000 schools.

Ambler is home to one of the state’s top high schools, according to a new study.

Wissahickon High School was ranked 15th in Pennsylvania in a new list released by U.S. News and World Report.

The annual rankings analyze four key metrics for each school: student-to-teacher ratio, average student proficiency in mathematics, average student proficiency in literature, and college readiness score.

The readiness score, which looks at a school’s AP exams and results, was a huge boost for Wissahickon, which scored a very competitive 43.8 on the college readiness scale. Of the 50 percent of its students who took AP exams, 42 percent passed.

Wissahickon was buoyed by a 3.4 proficiency score in mathematics.

The school ranked 795th in the nation. Over 21,000 schools from around the United States were included in the report.

The top Bucks County school was New Hope-Solebury High School, which ranked second in the state and 210th nationally.
