UPDATE: The black bear wandering in Whitpain Township was captured late Thursday afternoon, within hours of the initial sighting, officials said.
The bear was tranquilized by the Game Warden.
Authorities said that once the bear is asleep, it will be safely relocated.

WHITPAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A black bear was spotted in Whitpain Township on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The bear was spotted wandering near the area of Skippack Pike and Belfry Drive.
A spokesperson for the township said that Whitpain police are "currently tracking it."
The PA Game Warden is also en route to the area.
"Please be aware of your surroundings and the location of your children and pets," the township shared in a statement.
The sighting comes just days after a young black bear was seen a short distance away in nearby Towamencin. It's not clear if this is the same bear.
