The restaurant, originally built in 1714, stands as the oldest oldest continuously operating country inn in Pennsylvania.

The incident began just before 10 a.m. at the historic restaurant on 1017 DeKalb Pike.

Authorities said the blaze started in the kitchen and continued up to the roof.

Nearby roads were shut down and police asked drivers and residents to avoid the area.

"We are actively reaching out to those with reservations, tours, overnight stays, orders and events booked in the coming weeks, but please anticipate delays due to high call and email volumes with limited staff," the Inn shared.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
