Patriots and Friends: Recently, I attended a barbecue and believe it or not, the topic of conversation was the Federal Budget. A mixture of normal people, including Republicans, Democrats and Independents all concluded that we cannot continue the Deficits and we must start paying down the National Debt. Some voted for President Obama last time and others had not. All had the same opinion. The folks are united. The politicians are not so united. We concluded that both R's and D's both want to spend, spend, spend until we are broke. We all agreed we have reached that "broke" point. Attached is a copy of the 2013 Budget for the USA. I encourage everyone to read it, study it, analyze it. You should all forward my email to everyone on your email list along with the budget so everyone knows what President Obama and our Congress is planning for us in the future. A casual look at the numbers makes it clear that we are spending more than we take in. Total receipts are anticipated to be $2,902 billions. Spending is to be $3,803 billions. A shortfall of $901 billions that we will need to borrow from somewhere. Look at where all our money is spent. Far more is spent on Defense that any other area. Note the Mandatory versus the Discretionary breakdowns. Forget the deficit clock that spins and spins. We are talking real money here and a huge deficit, unless we citizens get together and vote in people who promise to and will vote to balance the budget and pay down the debt. The election in November, 2012 may be our best chance and last chance to avoid a financial disaster here in the USA. I understand that we are a huge economy, but, we are subject to the same rules of economics as every other country. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that we cannot continue the unchecked spending.
