Hearings This-Coming Week on SEPTA Bus Service Cuts
DVARP will be protesting proposed service cuts to SEPTA routes 94/132 at hearings this Wednesday. The potential cuts to Route 94 would hurt Community College students and Montgomery Mall employees.

Hi all,
This is Andy Sharpe at the Delaware Valley Association of Rail Passengers (DVARP) again. Unfortunately, there will be hearings this-coming week on potentially devastating weeknight and weekend service cuts on SEPTA's Route 94 and 132 buses. DVARP is especially concerned about the proposed cuts to the Route 94 bus. If finalized, these cuts would mean no service from Chestnut Hill to Montgomery Mall after 5 PM on weekdays and no service in the reverse direction after 6:20 on weeknights. This would leave scores of Montgomery County Community College students and mall employees without a ride from school or work. On a recent weeknight Route 94 ride, 11 MCCC students piled onto the bus. In just a few months, there might not be a bus.
Yet, there's something you can do. There will be public hearings on the proposed bus cuts this-coming Wednesday at the Community College and in Lansdale. The MCCC hearing will be at 3 PM, while the Lansdale hearing will be at 10 AM. More details on the hearings can be found in the link above. DVARP will be there with a statement against the Route 94 cuts. We're hoping to see plenty of representation from Montco students and Montgomery Mall workers. Finally, we want to see as many of you as possible come out. Whether you ride the 94 bus, or you have a friend, family member, or neighbor who rides it, come out and let the Montgomery County commissioners know that the region needs effective weeknight and weekend mass transit service to and from Montgomery County Community College and Montgomery Mall.
