New Reading Event @ Your Library - Reading Buddies!

WVPL BB has a new event, just for your favorite reader.

Does your child love reading aloud? Does your child need just a little extra reading help?

Check out Wissahickon Valley Public Library's (in Blue Bell) Reading Buddies. This weekly event is the perfect opportunity for a child in grades K-2 to practice his or her reading skills. No matter where your child is regarding his or her reading skills, this is the event for them. In Reading Buddies, children in grades K-2 are paired with a teen buddy* who will listen to your child read, guide him or her through the book when he or she is struggling with a word or phrase, and help them practice engaged reading (asking questions and engaging him or her in conversation). Your child will also have the opportunity to select books with his or her Reading Buddy from the Children’s Area of the library. This weekly event meets on Saturdays at 1 PM and lasts from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the books your child has selected to practice reading. Registration is required and opens one week in advance. Sign up online, call, or stop by) as space is limited.
