October Events for Kids & Teens at WVPL

October Events at WVPL Blue Bell and Ambler Library for Children & Teens.

School has started and fall is here. There are lots of fall festivals happening this month just for kids and teens. We hope you’ll join us at one or maybe all of the fall events we have planned. Don’t forget to check the website for more events from kids to teens to grown-ups as well.

One big event to look out for is our Friends (Blue Bell Chapter) Used Book Sale happening Saturday, October 13 to Tuesday, October 16. Yes, they will have children’s books, teen books, and books for grownups. Proceeds from the sale benefit the library. Visit here for more information.

Enjoy a silly, interactive magic show with Mike Rose!
For all ages. No registration.

Blue Bell Continuing Children’s Events

Lego Club
Thursdays, October 11 & October 18 at 4:30 PM
Do you like Legos? Join us and new friends for an hour of building with Legos at the library. We’ll provide the Legos and Duplos as well as a theme to build to.
For ages 3 & up. Parents/caregivers of those ages 5 & under must attend. No registration.
 
Kids Comic Club
Tuesday, October 23 at 4:30 PM
Calling all comic book fans! Our newest club is just for you. Come to the library and discuss your favorite graphic novel or comic book title.
For students in grades 4-6. Registration required

Guitar Story Time with Miss Michelle
Mondays and Fridays at 10:30 AM, Wednesdays at 4:30 PM

Blue Bell Teen Events

WVPL’s Hunger Games
Saturday, October 4 at 1 PM to 2 PM

Calling all tributes. You are invited to WVPL's Hunger Games Event. There will be a brief training session before you participate in WVPL's own Hunger Games. If you are between the ages of 12-17 and are up to the challenge, please register here as we can only take 24 tributes.
For ages 12-17. Supplies provided. Registration required. Register by Thursday, October 4


Choosing a College
Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 7 PM
Join Tanjanesia "Tanjy" Willoughby of Willoughby Educational Consulting as she shows you how to chose a college.
For high school teens and their parents. Registration requested (sign-up to recieve reminders about the event).

Teen Read Week: Food Monsters!
Thursday, October 18 at 7 PM
Cheesy monsters? Candy monsters? What kind of monsters can you make with food? We'll provide the monster parts (a variety of food), and maybe some instructions (maybe, but we're not sure yet). You can join us to make your own Monster Food creation (we'll take pictures but you can too)! If there is time, we'll discuss your favorite books with lots of silly questions like if you were stranded with only one book, which would it be?
