BREAKING: One Dead After Montco Tractor Trailer Crash

One victim is dead after a vicious crash between a pickup truck and a tractor trailer in Worcester on South Valley Forge Road Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.

The collision, reported at about 5:49 a.m., appeared to be head-on as one of the vehicles likely crossed the double-lines, officials said.

The Worcester Volunteer Fire Department and Skippack Fire Company responded to the scene, where they found one victim “heavily entrapped.”

They were able to stabilize the vehicle and get him from the pickup truck, but he was declared dead at the scene, fire officials said.

Traffic in the area was backed up and the road was blocked off until mid-morning as emergency crews worked to clean-up the crash.

The driver and a passenger in the tractor trailer were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries, which are believed to be non life-threatening.

Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.
